Bosch Rexroth has a new hydraulic unit: Cytrobox

Cytrobox, the new hydraulic unit from Bosch Rexroth allows energy savings of up to 80% and covers an intermediate power range from 7.5 to 30 kW. Even in industry, as for ICE, the imperative is power density. The result is in fact the reduction of the speed under partial or no load to save energy, and conversely an increase under full load with a highly dynamic response. The oil volume is reduced by three quarters, from 600 to only 150 liters.

A pro integration solution

The main application for Cytrobox is certainly integrated environments. Integrated and wired sensors provide information regarding the current filter, oil or drive condition. The collected data are then processed by the drive controller. With the help of Open Core Interface, they can then be conveniently further processed and integrated into modern machine concepts.

The CytroBox also offers a connectivity option for operators. This makes it easy to realize the potential of IoT technologies as a pay-per-use service.

Cytrobox: Less noise emissions in less space

CytroBox combines a small footprint with a compact design. This also includes a tank with optimized degassing and flow. The use of synchronous technology also saves space. The high-performance water-cooled synchronous motors are up to 80 percent smaller than comparable asynchronous ones.

Furthermore, the airborne sound is absorbed completely by the compact arrangement of all the components in one unitary housing and the sound insulating mats. This way, no sound leaks out. In order to reduce noise emissions stemming from structure-borne noise, the motor pump group is rigidly affixed to a polymer-concrete foundation. The damping bearings which typically transmit the noise to the tank are completely eliminated. Consequently, the noise emission of the CytroBox is less than 75 dB (A), even at full load. Comparable power units usually have an average noise level of 85 dB (A).

The words of the manufacturer

Riccardo Patat, Sales Manager of Hydraulics, with regard to the development of Cytrobox, shared his thoughts. «CytroBox is characterized by specific power, reliability and a wide range of applications. The goal is to increase the productivity of the factory in compliance with working conditions.

Among the benefits: energy savings, noise reduction, reduced dimensions and connectivity for predictive maintenance. CytroBox provides answers in those environments where machines connected to each other perform different jobs and must harmonize. Moreover, it benefits from the ease of commissioning and configuration of the power unit.

Connectivity is the main driver to anticipate faults, it is not a question of organizing the scheduled maintenance, it is functional to the use of the machine, which sends warning messages based on the wear of the components.

Where does the increase in productivity come from? From maximizing the operating hours of the equipment, which allows you to install a greater number of machines».
