Global Service has chosen Brigade Electronics for all vehicles in circulation in the port terminal of Genoa, equipped with anti-collision systems and cameras to protect operators and safeguard the vehicles themselves and structures

For over twenty years, Global Service has been dealing with ordinary and extraordinary maintenance of port, industrial and civil systems, as well as the Full Rental of lifting equipment. In addition to the machine, in fact, it provides its total management, with a prompt intervention always available. Global Service has been present in Genoa since 2008 and has become an integral part of the port management.

Global Service and Brigade Electronics together for safety

Thanks to a GPS monitoring system and a fleet control software specially designed and complying with the Industry 4.0 directives, coupons and technical interventions are programmed with precision, even remotely. All the Global Service vehicles in circulation in the terminal have been set up with anti-collision systems and cameras, to protect the operators and safeguard the vehicles themselves and the structures. After careful evaluations, the choice fell on Brigade Electronics devices.

In particular, to avoid collisions with objects and, above all, with people, two Backsense BS-9000 obstacle detection radars and a BE-890C camera were mounted on the rear of the Reach Stacker. The camera is from the Elite range, the Brigade Electronics line suitable for heavy applications, resistant to vibrations, IP69K waterproof and equipped with infrared LEDs to maintain excellent performance in very low light conditions. Both the camera and the radars are connected to a 7-inch monitor in the cabin, also from the Elite series.

In fact, an Osd module, or On Screen Display, has been added to the two Backsense, which allows the visualization on video of the 5-level radar alarms, superimposed on the camera images, in addition of course to the sound alerts, which increase with the approaching danger. All information is therefore displayed simultaneously on the screen, reducing stress and distractions for drivers. A second camera was installed on the boom of each Reach Stacker, to ensure that the containers are perfectly aligned.
