Let’s start with the hydrogen. MAN Cryo, the wholly-owned subsidiary of MAN Energy Solutions, has announced that it is working on a number of projects for liquid-hydrogen fuel-gas-supply systems for various-sized vacuum tanks equipped with tank connection spaces, and all relevant equipment for safety and function.

The nature of the projects and owners remain, as of yet, undisclosed. MAN Cryo manufactures liquid-hydrogen systems at its own facilities in Gothenburg, Sweden. «These projects represent a huge milestone for us. Our announcement in December 2018 of the development of the world’s first hydrogen system attracted a lot of attention and we have since initiated several projects – currently in different stages – and with different class societies», stated Louise Andersson, Head of MAN Cryo.

Increasing the output of the existing CHP plant in southern Germany

Besides, MAN Energy Solutions has won the order to supply another MAN 12V35/44G TS gas engine to the public utilities (Stadtwerke) of the town of Schwäbisch Hall, in southern Germany. The genset will increase the output of the existing combined-heat-and-power (CHP) plant to a total of 15 MW, and will replace an existing, outdated engine.

The new engine will deliver an electrical efficiency of 46 percent, compared to 39 percent for the existing unit, thus significantly increasing the efficiency of the entire plant; the overall efficiency of CHP operation will eventually exceed 90 percent.

MAN PrimeServ is quite busy in Cambodia

«The customer is very satisfied with the performance of the existing gas engine. Stadtwerke Schwäbisch Hall was particularly impressed by the plant’s above-average electrical efficiency and flexibility, and are once again relying on our cogeneration solutions for this planned expansion» commented Tilman Tütken, Head of Sales, Power Plants Europe, at MAN Energy Solutions.

Last but not least, there’s something new to say about MAN PrimeServ, the after-sales brand of MAN Energy Solutions (here and here a couple of posts we published about PrimeServ). In fact, the brand has signed a five-year service agreement for a new 200 MW power plant near Phnom Penh, the Cambodian capital. The tailormade contract was signed with Cambodian O&M company, SchneiTec, responsible for the C7 power plant owned by Cambodian utility, Electricite Du Cambodge (EDC), and constructed by MAN Energy Solutions. The plant is powered by eleven MAN 18V51/60DF engines.
