SaMoTer 2020: See you in October

There is a new postponement for SaMoTer 2020. The Coronavirus emergency, which is literally paralyzing Italy and beyond, had already forced the organizers to postpone the Verona fair from the end of March to mid-May. Now, considering the worsening of the situation and especially the tightening of the restrictions adopted by Italy and other European countries, the new dates have been released: from Wednesday 21 to Sunday 25 October 2020. On those days – viruses permitting, of course – in addition to SaMoTer, Verona should also host the Asphaltica fair, the ICCX-Southern Europe exhibition-conference on concrete prefabrication and the Oil&nonOil event on energy, fuels and mobility services, already originally scheduled for 21-23 October.

Because of the last restrictive decisions of Italian Government

The decision to postpone these events was taken in view of the evolution of the novel Coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 health emergency and the latest dispositions in the decree of the President of the Council of Ministers dated 11 March which imposes a blockade until 25 March of all activities that do not involve ensuring essential minimum services.

The requirements of this measure are incompatible with the organizational timing associated with the specific nature of these trade shows characterized by significant logistical and set-up complexities as regards handling and assembling large machinery.

SaMoTer 2020: The official statements of the organizers

«We continue to monitor the scenario, together with the steering committee involving companies, partners and associations such as Unacea and Siteb which co-organizes Asphaltica with us,» explained Giovanni Mantovani, CEO of Veronafiere. «The new postponement agreed upon is consequently the result of real time listening to the market and careful assessments. We took into account the need to ensure safety in health terms and safeguard the important investments planned by companies taking part. This unity of intent with stakeholders once again highlights the sector’s confidence in the capacity of the trade fair system to support it and be a tool for relaunching the sector, even in times of great crisis such as those we are currently experiencing.»

The XC13 surely sounds agnostic in FPT Industrial’s unofficial nomenclature; it comes, indeed, with a tripartite certification: Euro 6E (winking an eye at the upcoming Euro 7), methane gas and also biofuel, with a link to hydrogen.
