A year after the launch of the Quartz Xtra range, developed to meet the needs of the latest generation of engines (hybrids, downsized) and providing significant fuel savings (up to 4%), TotalEnergies Lubrifiants is taking another step forward with a new sustainable packaging. The company is stepping up its efforts to promote the circular economy and is taking it a step further by offering HDPE (high density polyethylene) cans for the Quartz Xtra range, which are made from 50% recycled plastics and are 100% recyclable.

The Quartz Xtra HDPE cans are fully recyclable many time. The waste is recycled into secondary raw materials without changing the basic structure of the material. This innovation boosts the use of recycled plastics in TotalEnergies’ packaging and contributes to the Company’s ambition to offer increasingly affordable, clean, reliable energy that is accessible to as many people as possible.

We are committed to offering our partners and customers solutions that promote a circular economy. This project demonstrates our technical expertise and our ability to innovate, putting our products at the service of mobility that is both efficient and sustainable”, notes Jean Parizot, Automotive Director of TotalEnergies Lubrifiants.

TotalEnergies: divestment in Gabon

After receiving the approval of Gabonese authorities, TotalEnergies announces the closing of its agreement to divest to Perenco Oil and Gas Gabon the Cap Lopez Terminal and non-operated assets of its 58%-owned affiliate TotalEnergies EP Gabon. With this transaction, in an amount of $350 million before final adjustment, TotalEnergies EP Gabon is divesting its interests in seven mature offshore fields operated by Perenco Oil and Gas Gabon, along with its interests and operatorship in the Cap Lopez oil terminal, to Perenco Oil and Gas Gabon. The divested assets’ production stood at 8,400 barrels of oil equivalent per day for the first three quarters of 2021.

This transaction is aligned with TotalEnergies’ strategy to enhance its portfolio by divesting mature, high break-even fields. TotalEnergies EP Gabon is refocusing on its operated offshore assets in the Anguille and Torpille sectors and remains a committed oil industry player in Gabon,” said Henri-Max Ndong-Nzue, President of TotalEnergies EP Gabon.
