DoosanCONNECT and the 13-year-old connection experience

Doosan Infracore Construction Equipment introduced the first telematics service in 2005 in China. After 13 years, DoosanCONNECT’s excellent results let think that it was a good idea. It is a fleet and resource management system that, to date, assists about 60,000 units including excavators, wheel loaders and articulated dump trucks in the world. DoosanCONNECT is operating around the world, but especially in the European and North American markets.

Digital optimization

Doosan has designed this system to optimize the management of construction sites and equipment. The monitoring of the engine parameters and the hydraulic system of the earth moving machines and equipment takes place in real time. Through personalized monthly reports, customers are always updated on the fleet status, hours of use, consumption, maintenance needs of their machines and equipment.

The information that comes to the fleet managers also concerns the details and position of the machines, engine hours at idle compared to total working hours, machine error codes, engine alarm system, maintenance history and usage reports. Optimization of consumption, in this case, matches with optimization of the power supply, thanks to the different options that the Doosan machines can display.

Geolocation for safety

The telematics system exploits the possibilities of a dual mode of transmission, via mobile and satellite cellular networks. Regarding the position, the system can support multiple Doosan machines in different locations, to improve their combination and efficiency. It also helps operators to identify replacement machines in case of maintenance or repair. Anti-theft and recovery systems in case of theft, monitoring the geographical position, complete the package.

The Doosan network

Currently, Doosan is working to expand the type of equipment that can benefit from DoosanCONNECT. At the same time, the company also works to increase the number of services that make use of the system. This is available as standard on all Doosan Stage IV excavators over 14 tonnes. But also on all Stage IV wheel loaders, and on Stage IV articulated dumpers. For the first three years, the service is offered free of charge and is also available as a retrofit kit. The contribution of the Doosan dealers is fundamental. These can analyze the problem through the DoosanCONNECT website, helping in the diagnosis directly remotely.
