How can Himoinsa gensets (here, a recent application in Turkey) help fighting the current pandemic? Easy to say, by ensuring an emergency supply in the event of a grid outage. Especially in those sites that are crucial in the efforts to combat the disease. One of these is the R&D Centre at the University of Zaragoza, in Spain, equipped with high-precision microscopes and units in which human samples are conserved, among other devices.

A WHITE PAPER FOR EXTREME CLIMATES

Ever since the onset of this global health crisis, in fact, Himoinsa has maintained its industrial activity in order to ensure uninterrupted service to the international market. Through its distributor Sorilux and in collaboration with the engineering company Cobra, several generator sets have been installed at the R&D building of the University of Zaragoza (Spain).

What are Himoinsa gensets powering?

«The building is divided into three main areas, each of which has both a grid and a genset supply as well as UPS. The most important area that has required power is the Aragón supercomputing centre, although other areas, including high-precision microscopes and units in which human samples are conserved have also been supplied», said Raúl Segura, Sorilux’s Commercial Director and Head of Development. Researchers and technicians, who have been allowed to use the University’s infrastructure, equipment and laboratories, have begun studies and tests designed to combat Covid-19.

About safety measures

In addition to this, Himoinsa has implemented new work protocols in its factories that guarantee the safety of its employees. Similarly, the distributor Sorilux is insisting on the importance of applying prevention protocols and rigorous safety measures.
